Things I didn’t know

The words to “In the Army Now”…

You’re in the Army now

You’re not behind a plow

You’ll never get rich

by digging a ditch

You’re in the Army Now

So, on Tuesday, I worked at the preschool.  The 2-year-old class is next door to the adult day care room.  (A place where elderly people go to spend the day, if they can’t be alone, but don’t necessarily belong “in a home.”)  Anyway, we all went next door and sang “Happy Birthday” to one of the ladies there.  We ended up staying for their “Exercises” and the kids participated, too.  For one exercise, the leader had them march (well, the kids marched, the elderly lifted their legs one at a time as if they were marching).  Anyway…

The leader started singing that song while they were marching.  And all the men started heartily singing along.  I can’t believe I’ve never learned the words before.  lol
